The Chronic Pain Breakup Method
Virtual Program With Pain Specialist, Alissa Wolfe
A research-backed 5-phase system to repair overactive pain pathways and reclaim your freedom, energy, and confidence—without relying on endless medications, ongoing therapies, or mind-over-matter wishful thinking.
You've tried everything... but have you addressed what's really keeping you in pain?
If you're still struggling with stubborn pain despite "doing all the right things," it's not your fault. The truth is, you've been missing a critical piece of the puzzle.
When pain persists beyond 6 months, it's no longer just about structural issues, inflammation, or your mindset. Your pain pathways have become overactive—creating a hypersensitive system that amplifies every sensation and keeps you trapped in a cycle of pain, regardless of where your pain is or how it started.
The problem is, doctors don't learn about overactive pain pathways in medical school. Physical therapy doesn't address it. And even most "mind-body" approaches miss the mark completely.
This is why nothing has worked long-term—you've been treating the symptoms of pain rather than the underlying mechanism that keeps it going.
What if you could finally address the hidden factor that's keeping you stuck?
Imagine having a clear, step-by-step plan that directly repairs your overactive pain pathways so you can:

Move Freely
Enjoy activities without fear of setbacks or "paying for it later"

Regain Energy
Wake up feeling rested instead of exhausted and foggy

Feel Confident
Trust your body again and make plans without fear
This is exactly what the Chronic Pain Breakup Method delivers—a comprehensive system to address the real reason why your pain won't go away.
The 5-Phase System That Gets Results When Nothing Else Has
Unlike random tips, cookie-cutter exercise programs, quick fixes, or fads, this approach targets the actual mechanisms keeping you in pain.

Discover What's Influencing Your Pain
Finally understand the hidden drivers of your pain—including nerve sensitivity, sensory processing adaptations, and programmed pain responses that don't show up on scans or tests. This clarity restores hope after years of confusing, vague explanations, so you can take more appropriate action instead of feeling like you're throwing spaghetti at the wall.

Create the Ideal State for Healing
Develop a personalized plan to predict and prevent pain flares before they start, along with strategies to quickly calm them when they do occur. You'll also learn to optimize sleep and simple breathing drills in order to create the ideal conditions needed for your body to recover.

Build Your Tolerance for Activity
Break free from the exhausting push-and-crash cycle using the "push to it, not through it" method. This strategic pacing approach helps you weaken automatic pain responses so you can gradually increase what you can do without triggering pain flares—allowing you to rebuild strength, function, and freedom gradually but consistently.

Reduce Sensitivity
Implement simple, tailored movements that will reduce the sensitivity of the nerves in your body. Practice a series of evidence-based strategies that teach your brain to correctly interpret sensory input and repair overactive pain pathways to reduce overall sensitivity level (without relying on meditation, mindfulness, pain reprocessing therapy, stress regulating, somatic tracking, emotional reprocessing, or generic desensitization).

Rebuild Physical Resilience
Reintroduce strengthening, stretching, and physical conditioning only with a new approach—in a way that supports, rather than triggers, your recovering pain system. This phase helps you build lasting physical strength and resilience without reinforcing pain patterns or risk for injury, allowing you to progressively return to the activities you love.
Each phase builds on the last, creating a comprehensive approach that addresses all aspects of your pain—not just the symptoms.

Hi! I'm Dr. Alissa Wolfe
CHRONIC PAIN SPECIALIST, PT, DPT, OMPT, OCS, TPS, CHC
As a board-certified orthopedic doctor of physical therapy and certified pain specialist, I left the traditional medical system when I realized it was failing people with persistent pain.
After developing several pain programs across the US (including one for the US Army), I created the Chronic Pain Breakup Method to provide what the medical system doesn't: a comprehensive, science-backed approach that actually addresses the root cause of persistent pain.
Most of the women I work with were desperate for structured guidance and support because they were exhausted and overwhelmed from trying to figure it out on their own.
I've helped hundreds of women—many who thought they'd tried everything—finally find lasting relief by addressing their overactive pain pathways. I'm not here to offer quick fixes or miracle cures, but a systematic approach that actually works when nothing else has.
Ready to finally address the REAL reason your pain won't go away?

The Chronic Pain Breakup Method is an investment in your health and future quality of life. The program cost varies based on the level of support and guidance you need. During our Pain Care Call, we'll discuss which option is the best fit for your situation. Payment plans are available to make the program more accessible.

It would NOT be covered under Physical Therapy.
How is this different from physical therapy and other exercise programs?
Many physical therapy and generic exercise programs can feel like a one-size-fits-all approach. They often focus on strengthening muscles or improving flexibility, but don't address what's going on beneath the surface: overactive pain pathways and nerve sensitivity. This can lead to short-term relief but rarely results in lasting improvement in pain—and sometimes even makes pain worse, leaving you stuck in a frustrating cycle of one step forward, three steps back.
When your pain pathways are overactive, it doesn't mean you wouldn't benefit from exercises, stretches, core work, or alignment training. However, an overactive pain system can cause persistent muscle tension that no amount of stretching or releasing can permanently fix. It also inhibits activation of the smaller stabilizing muscles, so attempts to strengthen them often reinforce existing imbalances and may even aggravate your pain.
In this program, we start by repairing those overactive pain pathways and reducing nerve sensitivity. By doing this first, your body is better prepared to handle exercises without pain flaring up. Once your overall sensitivity decreases, we can address muscle imbalances, stiffness, and compensatory movement patterns more effectively. This way, you're not just doing exercises—you're doing the right exercises at the right time, tailored to your unique situation.
Plus, you’ll gain practical support around flare-up prevention, management, and pacing, something generic physical therapy programs miss entirely.
How is this different from other pain retraining programs?
Many pain retraining programs rely heavily on psychological techniques such as mindfulness, visualization, or cognitive-behavioral approaches. They often encourage reprocessing pain as a neutral sensation, exploring repressed emotions, or managing stress responses through meditation and vagus nerve stimulation. While these methods can be helpful, they often miss a critical element: directly addressing the physical and neurological components of pain.
In contrast, this program is rooted in the biological and physiological realities of chronic pain. We focus on strategies that specifically target nerve sensitivity, reduce programmed pain patterns, and retrain your brain to process sensory information accurately. This isn’t about just managing stress or reframing pain—it’s about changing the underlying pain pathways themselves
Plus, you’ll get clear, actionable steps tailored to your unique pain experience, ensuring you always know exactly what to do next.
How much time do I need to commit?
Most clients spend about 20 minutes per day on the program activities, plus one hour for the weekly group coaching call. The program is designed to integrate into your daily life, not overwhelm it. Many of the strategies can be incorporated into activities you're already doing.
Will this program work for my specific condition?
The Chronic Pain Breakup Method has helped women with nearly all types of complex and persistent pain including:

If you've had pain for longer than 6 months and traditional treatments haven't helped, you likely have overactive pain pathways. This doesn't mean you just need to meditate and practice mindfulness. This doesn't mean physical issues don't contribute—it means we need to address both the structural problems and the overactive pain system that amplifies everything.
All strategies are fully customized to your specific pain location, intensity, and functional ability level.
The best way to determine if the program is right for you is to book a call so we can discuss your unique situation.
What happens after the 16-week program ends?
You'll have lifetime access to all program materials, so you can revisit the strategies anytime, but your access to the coaching calls, group, and support will end. You'll be invited to join our Alumni Community group on Facebook. If you ever need additional support or coaching beyond the 16 weeks, additional options are available.
Have more questions? Let's discuss them on a free Pain Care Call.
